Lugeon tests allow calculating the permeability or evaluating the fracturing of rock masses.

The execution method of the test consists of injecting water under pressure into boreholes.
A water supply pipe with two packers is lowered into the boreholes to isolate the section of the hole where the test is to be performed. During each test, the following are measured: the injection pressure, the injected flow rate, and the duration of the test after reaching steady-state conditions.
The tests are performed for at least 5 values of injection pressure, each kept constant for 10 to 20 minutes. Tests can be carried out while advancing, stopping the drilling every 2 – 5 meters, or while ascending when the drilling is finished
