The program allows for the stratigraphic classification of the soil profile to determine the geotechnical categories and the ground types required for seismic and foundation design, in accordance with Eurocode 7 (EN 1997).
The use of the program requires the input of the following data:

Number of stratigraphic units;

Depth of the foundation base level (m);

Thickness of each layer (hi in m);

Shear wave velocity for each layer (Vs,i in m/s);

Alternatively, values from Standard Penetration Tests (NSPT,i) or undrained shear strength (cu,i).
The program performs the classification through the following steps:

Calculation of the weighted average of shear wave velocity (Vs,30) or equivalent parameters;

Identification of the Ground Type (Class A, B, C, D, E) based on the geotechnical properties of the top 30 meters;

Determination of the stratigraphic profile for the definition of the seismic action according to EC8.
