The Downhole application allows processing geophysical surveys to determine the physical characteristics of soils through the propagation velocity of elastic waves.
For desktop applications for geophysics visit: geostru.eu/geofisica
Operationally, in the Downhole (DH) seismic method, the time required for P and S waves to travel between a seismic source, located on the surface, and the receivers, located inside a borehole, is measured.
In the input section, all the data to be used for the survey must be defined. First, the number of records must be entered, and then in the table that will be displayed, the depth of each inspection and the travel times between the source and the receiver for both the P wave and the S wave must be reported. These data can be entered manually or extracted from “.csv” files structured as follows:
Station ID; Record; Depth (m); Tp(ms); Ts(ms)
The application provides the average values of the P and S wave velocities, the average values of the Poisson’s ratio, and the value of VS,30.
